Meet The Team
We started Method Aesthetics Academy with the goal of helping the industry improve, which is why we are proud to provide the kind of hands-on educational experience that was missing from so many other certification programs. Simply put, we have an intrinsic love for aesthetics, and we are ready to train the next generation of experts!
About Brittany
Brittany is experienced in a wide range of injectables and skin treatments, including PDO threads! She believes that you should find a niche you’re interested in, and truly invest in it with meaning and purpose. She found her own niche in improving patients’ skin concerns and helping them regain their confidence, and she can’t wait to help her students do the same! Her years of experience have taught her that once set yourself apart and build relationships, the business will come to you.
Professional Experience
Brittany has experiene working at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery and its affiliated site, The Skin Care Center. She began her career as a surgical nurse at Baptist Hospital, while also working as a clinical instructor for Pensacola State College’s nursing program. In 2014, she joined Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery as the practice’s clinical director. In 2023 Brittany went on to open her own medical aesthetics practice, MĒLA Medical Spa in Pensacola Florida! Her expertise across numerous aesthetic treatment modalities has made it easy for her to pass on her knowledge to the next generation of injectors.
Education
Brittany earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of West Florida and went on to complete her master’s in nursing education from Western Governors University. After graduating, she would later go on to achieve her family nurse practitioner degree from the University of South Alabama. In addition to her work with Method Aesthetics Academy, she was selected by Allergan to be a speaker and trainer on the uses of their various products, like BOTOX®.
About Katie
Katie has been practicing medicine for over a decade, having entered aesthetics during her last semester of nurse practitioner school. Working in the industry was always dream job of hers, which she achieved shortly after graduation, and she now enjoys helping her students reach their own goals. One of her favorite aspects of the industry is that there’s always something new to discover. She’s loves learning about new techniques and products and sharing that knowledge with her students.
Professional Experience
Katie initially worked on the medical-surgical floor of Baptist Hospital, where she gained experience working with patients of all ages and medical needs. It was at the hospital where she learned how to truly connect with patients, a skill she also employs in the classroom. A member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Katie worked for The Skin Care Center at Gulf Coast Plastic Surgery, where she regularly performed injectables, PDO threads, CoolSculpting, laser treatments, and more. Katie now co-owns MĒLA Medical Spa with Brittany in Pensacola.
Education
After earning her registered nursing degree from Pensacola State College in 2011, Katie went back to school to complete her Bachelor’s in nursing from Western Governors University. Her love for learning and growing in the industry led her to achieve a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Simmons University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
